Christ the King Window — Holy Cross Church, West Sacramento

There are many beautiful stained-glass windows lining the upper and lower walls of the nave, but none more remarkable than the stained-glass window on the façade which displays to those inside, and out, the majesty of Jesus Christ.

The façade window depicting Christ the King shows Jesus in a ruby-red robe with a dazzling blue sash down the middle rising majestically, with Crucifixion-wounded outstretched hands and feet, toward the heavens. A Chi-Rho symbol is on the glass at the peak of the arch over His head which is royally crowned in gold. Adoring archangels with bowed heads and hands folded in prayer flank the King with the inscription “Chris tus Rex” (Christ the King) at the bottom of the window.
