Behind the altar table ahead of a convex wood-paneled dividing wall is the blessed tabernacle with a brushed brass exterior.
The doors of the tabernacle bear the colorful painted likenesses of the Angel Gabriel and the Blessed Virgin with a small dove as the Holy Spirit hovering overhead as they may have appeared at the time of The Annunciation. The doors of the tabernacle bear the inscription in Latin of the words of the opening of the Angelus prayer, “Angelus Domini Nuntiavit Mariae. Et Verbum caro factum est.” which means, “The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. And the Word was made flesh.”
