The Founders of the beautiful Our Lady of Vailankanni Shrine in New Delhi, India are memorialized with glass-encased busts in the courtyard.
Michael Anthony and Elizabeth Anthony who died in 2007 and 2006, respectively, developed the sacred space. The Psalm passage below their busts provides a glimpse into their motivation for building the shrine, “His work is honourable and glorious and His righteousness endures forever (Psalm 111:3).” A plaque below says that “This shrine was established in 1959 by their hard work and dedication. They lived their life for the shrine and died for the service of ‘Mother Mary’ devotees. They have made their wonderful works to be remembered and we their descendants will be mighty on earth and will be blessed.”
